About Matthew Meadors...

A mild-mannered computer programmer by day, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tulsa in 1989. I live in Sand Springs, Oklahoma with my wife Martha, and my two girls: Courtney 11, and Cassidy 6. In February of 2005 Martha, Courtney and I traveled to China to adopt Yu Yin Yin (Cassidy Yin Meadors).

How I started writing...

I am a drummer in a Christian band called Soul'd Out (check the link to the left!) that includes my lovely and immensely talented wife Martha. I only mention this because I've always loved books and wanted to try my hand at writing a novel but never did.

Then after years of writing song lyrics for the band, I started wondering seriously if I could actually write a book. Our band is ministry focused, and I wanted to write a book that would encourage and minister to people like the band's songs. But could writing songs translate to writing books? I was gonna find out!

So I sat down and came up with a rough plot and dove head-long into Just In Time, my first effort. It will probably never see the light of day, but that's okay because it led me to the world's greatest editor - Carol Craig (see her link as well). Carol led me through what amounted to a college course in writing for the cost of editing one book and I am so thankful I found her.

After writing that first book I was hooked! How could I not write? So, I turned around and plowed forward on When You Come Home (yeah, yeah, check the link!) and the rest is history.
